Responsible You is a fictional non profit organisation that has a motive to motivate people to be responsible for lending a helping hand towards strangers in a public place. it has always been noted by psychologist and hat when someone needs help in a crowded place a lot of people ignore it or fail to take any action because there is a diffusion of responsibility among the people present. A famous psychologist John Darley named this the bystander effect after doing series of experiment regarding altruism. Responsible You targets the general population to take action and go good for the people, because sometimes a few seconds can save or change a life.

The company’s marketing structure requires them to do a lot of online advertising to attract people from all walks of life and part of the world. The organization has a strong website based information and content. It allows them to communicate with people all over the world without being physically present in their country. Hence, they use online advertisements to spread their organization globally.

The three form of advertisement I Chose to do was vertical banner, facebook and a header. I started with the vertical banner ad because that one requires the most time and content. Although I had to take care of the fact that people do not like reading a lot so, I had to keep my information short and to the point. To create this advertisement I used adobe inDesing to so that the ad does not have colour inconsistency and it is easy to wrap text around the images. I used the white-cyan background because it makes it stand out to the public. A lot of advertisements use white or black background which after a while people learn to ignore but if something is of an unusual colour then it is easy to get peoples attention towards it. I used the tag line “ is a better you” to create a sense of emotion in people and trick them into feeling guilty for not being good enough so that there is some cognitive dissonance and they feel the need to do some good.

The facebook add did not require a lot of design as facebook has come up with its own design for all sorts of advertisements. So, I just basically had to place my information and my product images on the given design. One of the challenges I faced during the ad designs was that the facebook ads are designed to have a white background while I wanted to give it the white-cyan background. I then concluded to go with the white background to give it a professional facebook ad look.

For the header, I create a gif. so that it is more user interactive and it does not require a lot of space on a website. The header still uses the same logo and colour scheme as the vertical banner to create consistency and brand awareness through the logo.

The greatest difficulty I had was during the design implementation process as I had limited knowledge with the software I was using. I was held back even more because I had to use a colour combination that would work across all the software I am using for the design. Sometimes the same colour has a different shade for each software. Another difficult task was to assume what the audience of my company already knows about the company. Since the company is not new some people have already remember the colour scheme or the logo, so, I had to figure out what to make more prominent. Overall, I achieved what I wanted to in terms of content but I believe my display could have been better with advanced skills.
